The charge only applies when a vehicle is driven within the ULEZ zone, and does not apply to stationary vehicles including when cars are parked at Heathrow. The charge will be in addition to any other fees or charges associated with entering the airport. The daily charge for non-compliant vehicles is £12.50 for most vehicles, including cars, vans, and motorcycles. The initiative, implemented by Transport for London (TfL), is aimed at reducing air pollution in London, therefore all vehicles entering the airport must meet certain emissions standards in order to avoid paying a daily charge. Otherwise confirm, confirm and confirm again.London's Ultra Low Emission Zone, or ULEZ, is expanding to encompass all of Greater London, including Heathrow Airport, from the 29 August 2023. Use someone else for your transfers is you possibly can. Poor service, argumentative staff, and I suspect too few vehicles to service all of their bookings. Only conclusion I can reach is that Hoppa don't have enough vehicles, and wanted to take us to the airport at 3am, so they could come back for someone else at 5am. Really going to take an extra 2 hours at 3am? Eventually managed to convince them to stick with 5am, which got us there in plenty of time. Was told it was moved to 3am to allow for traffic. On the way back: I decided to confirm my transfer 2 days before leaving. I suspect Hoppa didn't have a car and had to offload us to another supplier. Was told a driver would be coming, but needed to wait. Was asked to hand my phone to someone at one of the other transfer desks at the airport. I ended up having to phone a UK number to be transferred to the Hoppa office in Turkey. Flight delayed a few minutes, but after we were in Airplane Mode, so no way to tell Hoppa. On the way out: Driver supposed to be there with a name card. We used Hoppa (booked as part of a LoveHolidays package for a private transfer from Antalya airport to our hotel and then back 10 days later. We would recommend Yellow Fish for Portugal - Good company Very dissapointed as we have used Hoppa before and been usually good but it was a rip off and would advise to not use as they don't answer the phone, don't give refunds and try get money from you. We rung the vehicle provider before our travel to Faro who said that Hoppa are letting people book 1 taxi and then when people arrive to the airport are being asked to pay to upgrade to an 8 seater due to the covid restrictions so trying to get more money out of customers when they arrive at Faro airport. We then had to pay extra for an 8 seater but when we got to Portugal itself, other taxis would allow 3 people in 1 car. We were told to pay extra to book another taxi or pay for an 8 seater car for 3 of us. However we then got an email the following day that due to Covid restrictions 3 people could not get into a 1 vehicle taxi. Having had to cancel a holiday in April 2020 we asked several times for a monetary refund and they would only give hoppa credit and then we rebooked for Portugal in September 2020 and we booked a transfer for 4 people in 1 vehicle at Faro Airport and paid extra money for the transfer we were told the booking was accepted and got a confirmation of booking. As for complaining, Hoppa seem to have made art form of not paying any compensation/refunds - if things go wrong (as they certainly appear to) their customer service is zero. On trawling through Hoppa's TrustPilot/Trip Advisor reviews over the last 6 months, it appears that my experience is not uncommon - wish I checked this before booking. No automated acknowledgment sent and still no reply of any sort. I was forced to use street taxi instead.Ģ4 hours has now elapsed since I submitted a formal complaint to Hoppa in their clunky complaints website. By this time I am now 30 minutes late and with a 40 minute drive to the airport I was in danger of missing my flight. I called the help number who kept me on the line for over 20 minutes eventually claiming the transport was allegedly stuck in traffic and would be another 10 minutes. On the return, the transport didn't turn up at the allocated time. For my arrival transfer in Gran Canaria I booked and paid for a Mercedes and/or Sedan - 20euros more expensive than standard saloon.
